Landscaping Program

The Biala Wind Farm Landscaping Program has been designed to mitigate the visual impacts of the wind farm in line with the requirements of the wind farm’s development consent. A copy of the development consent can be downloaded from the NSW Government Planning Portal website here. Condition 1 of Schedule 3 relates to this program.

The Landscaping Program is available to residents until 04 August 2024.

Program eligibility

You may be eligible for the program if you own a residence within 4km of a wind turbine. The Eligibility Area map can be viewed here

A “residence” is a building that has the appropriate approvals to be used as a residential home and is either being used as a home or is in a condition suitable for use as a home. We may request to visit your residence before we confirm your eligibility for the program. You may not be eligible for the program if a development application for your residence was lodged after 12th April 2017. In this case, we encourage you to fill out the online application form so we can further assess your application.

Program options

Residents who are eligible for the program may select from one of the following two options:

  • Option One – request appropriate mitigation measures (such as landscaping and vegetation screening)
  • Option Two – agree to a one-off payment to mitigate potential visual impacts of the wind farm for all residences on any property you own in the Eligibility Area.

How to apply

Please submit your application form here (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BWFLandscapingProgram). Following your submission, we will assess your application form and confirm your eligibility.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss any aspect of the program or the online form, please contact us by sending an email to [email protected] or calling 1800 370 045. You can also call us if you’d like to complete the form over the phone rather than online.
