Community Consultative Committee

Biala Wind Farm has formed a Community Consultative Committee or CCC.

The purpose of the CCC is to provide a forum for open discussion between representatives of the wind farm, the community, Upper Lachlan Shire Council and other stakeholders on issues relating to the wind farm. The CCC has an important role to play as the wind farm moves into the construction phase. It is important to us that we can hear from the community and let the community know what we are up to.

The first meeting of the Biala Wind Farm CCC was conducted on Tuesday, 21st July 2015. Meetings will be held throughout the wind farm’s construction and operational life. Minutes of meetings will be posted here after a meeting is held.

The CCC will be operated generally in accordance with the “Community Consultative Committee Guidelines” issued by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. These guidelines can be viewed here.

The next CCC meeting will be held on Tuesday 24 September 2024.

Seeking expressions of interest for Community Representatives

The purpose of the Community Consultative Committee is to provide a forum for open discussion between representatives of the community, local council, Biala Wind Farm, and other stakeholders within the local community. The role on the CCC is voluntary and meetings are generally held four times per year.

Members of the community or local stakeholder groups can submit an expression of interest to join the CCC. Please note we currently do not have any vacant position, however we may do so in the future. Please feel free to submit a nomination form or you can request to attend as an Observer at our upcoming meetings.

Selection Criteria
Applicants must have the ability to:
1. Contribute constructively to CCC discussions
2. Attend all meetings
3. Communicate information about Biala Wind Farm between the CCC and broader community.
